MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE/DEBIT CARD PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Job Overview:
As a Member Service Representative, you will provide friendly, helpful service by accurately and efficiently processing a variety of financial inquiries, account openings, service requests and transactions in person, virtually and over the phone. You will be required to balance daily transactions, and complete necessary reports. As a Debit Card Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day activities required to support the debit card program such as the opening and closing of debit cards, and handling any questions and processing issues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform customer service duties promptly and accurately including (but not limited to): general questions and inquires, deposits, cash checks, withdrawals, transfers, account balances, loan payments, open accounts, close accounts, answer phone and emails, money orders, cashier’s checks, wire transfers, address/name changes, etc. while adhering to all credit union policies and procedures; prioritize member’s requests
- Adhere to all aspects of the Privacy Act. Assure that all members’ confidential information is secured and/or properly destroyed daily
- Ability to be flexible, work well under pressure and must be comfortable with multiple competing demands
- Balance cash drawer and checks, scan checks that have been deposited or cashed on member accounts
- Process debit card applications and debit card fees, issue debit cards
- Troubleshoot member’s debit card issues
- Review and process debit card daily reports
- Assist in the resolution of difficult or sensitive card processing issues, close compromised cards, track and monitor debit card disputes
- Reconcile debit card settlement account daily
- Handle trouble-shooting for problems encountered with debit card software, hardware or balancing issues
- Act as a liaison between data processors when issues arise or when technology changes and hardware (or other) updates need to be made.
- Monitor VISA’s notifications for compromised debit cards
Requirements and skills:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to patiently and effectively communicate complex information clearly
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Possess an engaging and positive personality
- Efficient time management and organizational competence, with accurate attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving capability and basic math skills
- Learn to navigate multiple systems and use all related software applications
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of credit union product and service offerings (preferred)
- Experience with cash-handling (preferred)
- Previous experience specific to debit card programs (preferred)
Benefits: Paid time off (PTO), health insurance and retirement offered after 90-day probation period
Hours at work: 30-35 hours per week, Monday through Friday
